Rororock S5 seamlessly navigates from room to room in your home, mapping everywhere it goes and cleaning every spot. If it runs low on power, it returns to recharge and continues where it left off. 2000Pa of strong suction power, combined with a thorough mopping system cleans every inch of your floors. In the Mi Home app you can send it to clean any spot, start a clean cycle, or schedule cleaning for when you are not home.

 

Cyclone 3D Cleaning System

The powerful fan works like a cyclone up to 2000Pa high suction, the floating main brush fits well the floor, along with the side brushes and rolling brushes, make sure the floor is completed cleaned, horizontally and vertically.

 

LDS Smart Navigation

A laser range sensor rapidly scans each room and then computes this information with an algorithm known as SLAM to generate a real-time map of your home. Based on this map, S5 will calculate the most efficient route for a fast and comprehensive clean.

Bionic mopping system

Botanical bionic design of the water tank keeps a steady water outlet but no water stain at rest. Plug-in water tank save you from overturn the robot and avoid water leak. The edge of the mop cloth adheres to the robot tightly, prevent edge curling.

Self-adjustable Brushes

The dynamic variable-speed side brush spins at 330RPM when sweeping along an edge, otherwise, it spins at 130RPM to prevent dirt from flying. Floating main brush system floats up and down and cling to the ground, no dust left.

5200mAh battery capacity

5200mAh battery high-capacity supports your robot runs continuously for up to 150 minutes*. Charge one time for multi-room coverage. *Note: Tested in Roborock’s Tech Lab on hard floors, running time may vary.

Advanced climbing ability

Recharge and Resume

Anti-collision for safety

Anti-collision sensors emit infrared-ray to detect if there are obstacles, if so, this robot will slow down and touch the surface gently. Protect your baby, your pet and your furniture.

Ideal for the home with pets

Zoned cleaning

Having dabbled in robotic vacuum cleaners quite a few years ago, I came round to looking again. If you read the reviews (mid-2018), you will quickly find that if you're prepared to venture outside of the bigger names (iRobot, Neato, Samsung), that this little robot is great bang for buck. The best thing about this unit is the mapping. Once the clean is in progress (or the robot is driven around using the phone remote app) the unit starts to map the room and builds the picture of the environment. Once the walls are mapped, the unit will drive the outer edge of the area which refines the overall map of the room. After knowing the exterior has been cleaned, it will criss-cross the room to clean the whole area and leave no section that hasn't had a pass. The mapping can be used with "zone cleanup" which allows you to define areas on the map to be cleaned and the robot won't leave that defined zone. You can also define multiple passes in a zone for additional cleaning. Cleaning different floors requires the unit to learn a new map every time and it's a minor annoyance that it can't save maps. Cleaning: I don't really have a direct comparison with another robot but it passes the visual test. The obvious limitation on a circular vacuum is corners - some manual cleanup may be required here. It uses a "balanced" power mode for the cleaning and can auto-switch to high power vacuum for carpets. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the cleaning. Battery: Probably one of the biggest differences between the robots of yesteryear. This robot will go for about 2.5h before needing a recharge. That's been enough for me to work multiple levels and mutliple passes. The robot will automatically drive back and charge when it needs to or at the end of a clean. Overall: It's great. Super impressed and a real time saver.

11/2/18: Firstly this is a real review and I rarely write them. The short version is that in the two hours that I’ve owned this, I’m incredibly impressed. The long version: A couple of weeks ago I bought the Roomba 690 on a whim. It did the job, but I’m very OCD. I HATED that it was so random in its movements. Like a chicken with its head cut off. I knew if I didn’t return it within the window that I’d be bothered by it forever. So I returned it and did a TON of research on smarter robot vacuums with SLAM mapping that would vacuum in a more systematic manner. I looked at the Roomba 980 which has a camera for visual mapping, and the Botvac D7 which has laser mapping. I decided against the Roomba 980 because it has difficulty mapping in the dark, and because I wasn’t quite satisfied with how it moved around. I was nearly ready to pull the trigger on the Botvac D7 because I liked the way it moved around, and it has the laser mapping. But then I read the reviews and watched videos showing that it had a lot of problems. So I searched Amazon for “robot vacuums”, sorted by price descending, 4 star reviews or better, and Prime eligible. The Roborock S5 came up. I was suspicious of the good reviews at first but I read through nearly every single one and they seemed legit. So I did more research on the S5 and found some YouTube reviews on it. I was impressed but still skeptical. I researched Xiaomi which I found is quite a good and well known brand in China and other places. I also found that their previous version of this vacuum (the Xiaomi Mi) was well-received and had good reviews all over. I took the plunge and bought it on Wednesday. Paid for expedited shipping and got it today (Friday). It came about half charged, I downloaded the app and got it connected and let it charge up fully. The Apple Store shows 2-star reviews of the app, but I think the app is fine. It’s in English, it’s fairly intuitive (though I’m pretty techy), and feels pretty solid. Maybe those were for old versions or something. Once it charged up, I tapped Clean in the app and it went to town. I watched in real time the app updating with my condo floor plan, and monitored as it moved along and “outlined” my pad before it started its methodical zig-zag cleaning. It was very satisfying lol. It took 40 minutes to cover my entire place (about 835 sq ft but only about 400 sq ft of it is “vacuum accessible”). The Roomba I had would take over an hour, and sometimes crapped out and died before it returned to charge, or would get stuck on stuff, or run around in circles trying to find its dock, THEN die. lol. Not this one! It told me “finished cleaning, returning to dock” and it followed a perfect path back to the dock, hitting nothing like the Roomba would. This vacuum is pretty darn careful. It overlaps quite well, and doesn’t go over the same area several times randomly like the Roomba would. So, in the end I’m quite pleased so far. It’s still obviously early yet, and if anything ever changes I will certainly update this review. But if you’re thinking about getting it, from my experience this far, I’d say go for it. It’s a big brand name for over a billion people and it’s gaining traction here. It basically has all the features of the Neato D7, for $300 less. Happy sucking! 😂 11/4/18: Day 3 and it’s still working like a champ! Still very pleased. Once per cleaning, on my carpet it’ll throw Error 5 “clean the main brush” but I just hit resume in the app and it’s totally fine. Maybe a firmware update could fix this. It’s not an inconvenience at all since I’m notified and can resume from the app anywhere. 11/19/18: Still very satisfied, especially with the latest firmware update. It adds the ability to save the map and set virtual barriers. I still get the error 5 on carpet, but I’m still very happy with this!! 12/6/18: Still very happy with it! 12/15/18: Still great! But I just read a one-star review of this that tells people not to believe “the paid reviews” - so let this be known: I was not paid for my review. lol. I just like the vacuum I received. Undoubtedly a couple folks will have a bad experience, but that doesn’t mean that the majority who have a good experience were paid for their review. 6/13/19: Still going strong!

I also own a Roomba 890, which I have designated to clean the downstairs. while the Roomba does a good job, the bouncing from wall to wall model of cleaning (I think of this as the infinite energy rubber ball model) is inefficient. I have placed visible things on the floor for the Roomba to pick up and it might take 2 or 3 sessions for it to get them all. The Roborock however got everything I placed the first time. The, for lack of a better word "zigzag" pattern covers the entire room, and every room in which it is allowed. It also takes less time, the same area that took the Roomba 55 minutes, takes the Roborock 42, and as I said before it does a better job. The Roomba frequently gets stuck and asks for help, the Roborock has yet to request any kind of help, other than to empty the dustbin. The Roomba went under something and dragged it's RCON off, the small "tower" in the front of the robot that senses the charging port. I had to rebuild the casing and replace the RCON. The Roborock seems to know it's limits, what it can and can't get under. I also had a lot of things that were dragged around the room by Roomba, especially anything with a cord. So far, I haven't had this to happen with the Roborock. I also love the way the Roborock can increase it's suction when it gets on a rug or carpet. My rugs look very good.

Finally purchased this robot vacuum after months of researching different products. We have two dogs that shed quite a bit and this vacuum brings back at least half a dust bin full of stuff every day. This cleans better than top end roomba and neato models (800-900 bucks) and comes with a mopping attachment on top of that. The mop is basically a cloth and water reservoir, but If you fill it with say, swiffer wet jet solution, it does a pretty great job. Basically the best vacuum you can buy at half the price of the competition. We haven't had to manually clean our floors since it arrived
